NableU for support workers and providers
NDIS support worker jobs and opportunities
Explore participant-posted NDIS support work, respond to individual briefs and build direct relationships as an independent support worker.
Finding NDIS participants and clients as an independent support worker
People looking for support want to understand who you are, what you can help with and whether you can do the work they have described. Build a clear profile with your service area, availability, skills, interests, communication style and relevant evidence. Respond to the person's actual request, including the timing and support needs you can meet.
NableU's NDIS marketplace connects that process with participant-led worker discovery. A participant may approach a worker directly or publish a support request for suitable workers to answer. Read the participant guide to understand what people may want to ask before choosing support.
Are these disability support worker jobs or employed vacancies?
Participant-posted support requests describe work a person is seeking. They are not a promise of employment with NableU, guaranteed clients or available paid shifts. An independent engagement and an employed role have different terms; confirm the actual arrangement with the person or organisation offering the work. NableU does not set those terms on your behalf.
How can I find support work near me?
Use your service area and availability to review relevant requests, then check the location, tasks, timing and any evidence required. Be clear about travel and any limits on the work you can offer. Local requests and visibility depend on the current release, account permissions, relevant checks and the people using the platform.
What support workers can do
- Build a profile around skills, support style, interests, availability and relevant checks.
- See participant-posted support requests that fit location, skills, interests, preferences and availability.
- Answer each part of a participant's brief instead of sending a generic application.
- Keep participant relationships, messages and upcoming sessions together.
- Record completed hours and follow invoice records without pretending NableU has processed a payment or NDIA claim.
- See readiness, evidence review and expiry tasks before they become an avoidable problem.
How the experience should feel
The worker Dashboard prioritises active responses, participant relationships, checks due, sessions, messages and invoice progress. Participant details present the practical information needed for good support, including timing flexibility, communication preferences, support needs and only the My Manual fields explicitly shared with that worker.
Support jobs and participant employment opportunities stay separate. Response prompts mirror the participant's actual questions, with feedback directly beneath each answer and an optional review before submission.
Trust and professional boundaries
Verification evidence, policies and qualifications are detailed behind the scenes while participants receive a clear trust summary. NableU does not turn a badge into an unexplained guarantee. Concerns, failed support outcomes, incomplete checks and positive feedback affect context and visibility through auditable rules.
Independent workers, sole traders and organisations need different evidence, but the participant-facing promise stays the same: useful clarity about who will provide the support and whether the relationship is likely to fit.
A typical flow
- Complete the profile and readiness evidence relevant to the support offered.
- Review suitable participant-posted requests.
- Answer the person's brief and check the response before sending it.
- Message, arrange the relationship and confirm upcoming support.
- Record completed hours and follow review or invoice progress.
From a response to a support relationship
Your response confirms whether you can do the particular work. The participant still chooses who to engage. Messaging or a meet-and-greet is followed by a separate Service Agreement and agreement to individual sessions; sending a response does not book a shift. Open NableU to review the support-worker entry.
Does NableU charge platform fees?
NableU currently has no platform fees or subscriptions. We aim to keep access free for as many people as possible for as long as possible. Support workers still charge for their work, and the support rate and terms must be agreed separately. This is our current position, not a promise that pricing will never change.
Compare the total cost, support model and responsibilities before choosing a platform.
Current stage
NableU is an early release before version 1.0, with implemented worker profiles, support-request responses, relationships and session workflows. Availability depends on the current release, permissions and relevant checks. Some integrations remain in testing or planned. Invoice records do not mean NableU has processed a payment or submitted an NDIA claim, and a verification label is not a guarantee of suitability.
